Payment
Am I refunded if the certificate cannot be issued?
Yes, in full. If the manufacturer tells us that no certificate can be issued for your VIN — vehicle without EU type approval, archives unavailable, defunct brand — we refund the whole order, options included, to the payment method you used.

We do not charge for a document we cannot obtain. Checking the VIN before filing rules out most impossible cases; when the manufacturer refuses nonetheless, the order is refunded in full, with no file fee withheld.
The most frequent grounds for refusal:
- vehicle built for a market outside the European Union, without EU type approval;
- vehicle over ten years old whose manufacturer no longer holds the data;
- VIN not recognised by the manufacturer (typing error or rebuilt vehicle);
- defunct brand whose archives were not taken over.
The refund is issued within a few working days to the original payment method; how soon it shows on your account then depends on your bank. Details are in our refund policy. A manufacturer delay beyond the announced lead time is covered by the lead-time guarantee instead.
