Homologa

The COC document

Is the digital copy (PDF) of the COC accepted by the authorities?

In France, yes in the vast majority of cases: the registration application is made online through ANTS, which expects scanned documents, so the PDF of the manufacturer’s certificate is uploaded as is. Some offices abroad and some registration professionals still require the paper original.

The digital copy we send you is the scan of the certificate issued by the manufacturer, or the PDF it sends us directly: same fields, same signature of the homologation department, same document number. It is not a summary or an attestation of our own.

Where it is enough:

  • ANTS (France): the online procedure for registering an imported vehicle asks for uploaded documents; the PDF is accepted like any other supporting document;
  • most authorised professionals (garages, dealers) who file the application for you;
  • insurers and inspection centres, which only need the data.

Where the original may be requested: some offices in Belgium (DIV), Luxembourg or Switzerland, many German Zulassungsstellen for counter appointments, and a few offices for unusual files. If your country of registration falls into these cases, choose the paper original when ordering: the certificate itself costs the same.
