Registration support for an imported vehicle

We review your registration file before you submit it to the French ANTS: consistency between the certificate of conformity and the foreign registration document, tax clearance, roadworthiness test, supporting documents, expected fiscal power and malus. You then submit a complete file, without back-and-forth. Option at €59 incl. VAT.

What the support includes

  • Check that the VIN, type-variant-version (D.2) and approval number (K) match between the certificate of conformity and the foreign registration certificate.
  • Check of the document list for your case: used intra-EU vehicle, new vehicle, non-EU import, company vehicle.
  • Review of the quitus fiscal or customs clearance, the roadworthiness test and proof of identity and address.
  • Estimate of fiscal power, CO₂ retained and ecological malus from the certificate’s fields, to avoid a surprise at payment.
  • Written reply within one working day, then e-mail exchanges until the file is submitted.
  • If ANTS requests a missing item, analysis of the reason and indication of the expected document or correction.

What it does not include

  • Submitting the application on ANTS in your name: we are not a professional authorised on the French SIV and never ask for your credentials.
  • Taxes and fees: regional tax, malus, delivery fee remain payable to ANTS.
  • Individual approval by the technical service and technical expertise, which we explain but do not carry out.
  • The procedure in Germany, Belgium or the Netherlands: the review is built for the French file; for other countries we check the documents’ consistency and refer you to our country guides.

Who is it useful for?

First import

You are buying your first vehicle abroad and discovering the quitus, field K and the malus: we spare you the usual two or three rounds.

File already rejected

ANTS asked for a missing item whose reason escapes you: we read the message, identify the expected document and tell you what to correct.

Unusual case

Vehicle over ten years old, incomplete foreign registration document, motorhome with two manufacturer plates, import from Switzerland or the UK: we know which documents the office expects.

How does the support work?

  1. You add the option to your certificate order, or request it alone if you already have the document.
  2. On receipt of the certificate, we send you the list of documents to gather for your specific case.
  3. You send us the documents (legible copies or photos) through your customer area.
  4. We review them and reply in writing: what is compliant, what is missing, what must be corrected, and the amounts to expect.
  5. You submit the application on ANTS; if a missing item is requested, we analyse the reason with you.

Why don’t you submit the application for me?

Submission on the French SIV is reserved to the holder or to a motor-trade professional authorised by the prefecture. We are not one, and we refuse as a matter of principle to handle your France Connect credentials. If you prefer to delegate the submission entirely, an authorised garage or dealer can do it with the file we have reviewed; the mandate form (cerfa 13757) is then required.

Is the certificate of conformity always necessary for this file?

No. If your foreign registration document carries the EU type-approval number (field K) and the full type-variant-version (field D.2), ANTS generally does not require the certificate. This check is part of the support: we tell you when it is useless rather than sell you one. The detailed answer is here.
