Who issues the certificate of conformity? What is Homologa’s role?
The certificate is always issued by the manufacturer or its official representative in Europe, from its type-approval data. Homologa is an intermediary: we check the VIN, file the request with the right department, follow the file and forward the document to you. We do not produce any certificate.

Only the manufacturer can draw up a certificate of conformity: it certifies that the vehicle carrying your VIN conforms to the approved type. No third party — neither us, nor an authority, nor an inspection centre — is entitled to produce one.
What Homologa does:
- identify the manufacturer or the competent representative from the VIN, including for brands that moved from one group to another;
- check that the document is available before charging you;
- file the request in the form each homologation department expects;
- chase, follow up and forward the digital copy and then the paper original.
Why use an intermediary? Several manufacturers do not accept requests from private individuals or handle them without priority; others impose forms or portals reserved for professionals. We charge for this service on top of the manufacturer’s fee, and the whole is shown as a single price before ordering. You remain free to approach the manufacturer directly.
