Why a COC for an imported Toyota Yaris?
A Toyota Yaris bought in another EU country must be linked to its approved type before it can be registered. The COC gives the authority the data the foreign registration document does not always carry: type-variant-version (D.2), approval number (K), CO₂ emissions, masses, number of seats.
If the registration document of your Yaris already carries fields D.2 and K in full, a COC is not always required in France: the free VIN check tells you before you order.
Versions and common pitfalls on a Yaris
A Toyota Yaris exists in many versions depending on year, engine and country of first sale. The certificate describes the exact version that left the factory, identified by the VIN — not the one in the advert. What we check before filing: consistency between the foreign registration document and the VIN, the category (M1), the number of seats and the approved tyre sizes.
Vehicle age and certificate availability
The Toyota Yaris has been sold in Europe since 1999. Manufacturers are only required to keep conformity data for ten years after production (art. 36 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858): for an older unit we check actual availability before charging and refund in full if the document cannot be obtained.
